You can always respec your character 3 times, once for each difficulty at Akara after you complete the Den of Evil quest. But if you’re playing D2 for the first time it’s better to learn about the game along the way. In D2 put all your points into 1 skill and it’s synergies. Pick which one you want to play the most. Give it at least 2-3 hours struggling and having fun. Blizzard could make a couple of online service improvements for D2R but overall its nearly perfect. Better off to just buy the game and play it. It’s literally one of the best games ever created. You KNOW the game, you KNOW the enemies, the loot, the areas, its another dimension of game, not a random lottery without soul.Īnd what I talked about here is just the surface of the difference. You know it all, you appreciate it all and it comes together in a much more distinct way. You know the bases, you appreciate the loot from its base.Īnd you know the affixes that can roll on loot, you appreciate them as well. You wanna recognize a Berserker Axe, you look for Mancatchers or Grand Matron Bows, and so on. You look for stats, yes, but you look for an item first. You know in D1 that there is the Great Swkrd and Bastard Sword, the Great Axe, the Hatchet or whatever you aim for. You know, in D1 and D2 you appreciate the item itself, the item without stats on it. Not good loot like in D3 or D4, where its much more artificially generated without recognition and without a sense of control about it. If you loved D3, it could be a struggle - but if you have an.uhm.lets call it awakening?(lol) and start to understand what Diablo is all about, what Diablo 3 and also 4 to an extend are not about, what these games fail to transport, then you will fookin love it.ĭiablo as a series from how it felt in its first two installments is about excitement and opportunities of good loot.
